Diary of Work on the Jeep - A Year on.

23/8/26: That's gone quick! A year since the Jeep came home with me, and yet it only feels like a very short time ago. I've done a bit over 470 miles in the eight months since registering it. No regrets at all - it's been a joy to work on and drive. I love its individuality and quirkiness too. I could go on. Anyway, at this point, here are the jobs I know still need doing:

Looking back through the photos supplied by the previous owner, which also contained photos from the owner before him - I noticed that the Jeep had solid rim wheels, at least when the QLD owner had it. I don't know if they were original MB wheels, or from a later CJ.
It's a pity the previous owner replaced them with the combat rims on it now. I did get one solid rim with the Jeep but don't know what happened to the other four. Being an early MB body, solid rims are not out of place. Although the combat rims make tyre replacement easy, they are very heavy, and one has to ensure all the bolts are in good condition.


What happened to the solid rims?

26/8/26: The radio project is well under way - speaker box with output valve is complete. Next to work out where best to place the receiver.


Speaker box also contains output valve and transformer.
